The Santa Maria Valley is not only home to hundreds of acres of tasty strawberries and a mild climate, but also is the location of the host city for the Santa Maria Philharmonic. The Society presents five concerts of classical music each season to enthusiastic audiences, in addition to special programs for the children of the community. Music Director John Farrer, a recently appointed trustee of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., has conducted the London and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras and is a Senior Guest Conductor of the English Sinfonia, also in London. Maestro Farrer brings his experience in the classical musical literature with exciting interpretation to Santa Maria and the surrounding communities.
